This page provides an overview of major digitization projects of interest to scholars and students in German Studies. It focuses on retrospective digitization of older materials. For digital versions of modern reference books etc. consult, for example, the Reference Shelf.

  • DigiBaeck
    Search the digital collections at the Leo Baeck Institute in New York, NY. Over 75% of the archival collection is available online, including 2000 manuscripts and memoirs. In addition, many of the collection's books, photographs, and other material may be viewed online.
  • Karl Gutzkow Digitale Gesamtausgabe
  • Heinrich Heine Portal
    A major project that combines the Düsseldorfer Heine-Ausgabe and the Heine-Säkularausgabe.
  • Immanuel Kant: Gesammelte Schriften
    The 23 volumes of the Akademie Ausgabe are available in searchable full text.
  • FPG & FrL e-Texts
    E-Editions include the Canadian author Frederick Philip Grove (aka Felix Paul Greve)'s 1927 & 1946 autobiographies, & the revealing recollections of the dada Baroness Else von Freytag-Loringhoven. (Archives & Special Collections, University of Manitoba)
