Portal and catalog for all types of museums in France, from the Ministère de la Culture. Use the left menu to explore the many ways to search and browse this collection of hundreds of thousands of objects, by subject, collection, museum, exhibition, etc. The Catalogues en ligne link has an international dimension. JocondeLab experiments with still more ways to group objects, by geography, chronology/timeline, etc. The Ressources link lists potentially useful sites.

Take some time to familiarize yourself with the navigation features of the Art Project. Limiting collections or the place of artworks by country or city may be useful. Some collections include Museum View (building layouts with corresponding interior photography, similar to Street View in Google Maps. See, for example, the Musée d'Orsay. Save particular works to a custom user-created gallery. In addition to the Art Project there are sections for World Wonders and Historic Moments. See an overview of the Cultural Institute.
