Purposes and Origins

The primary purpose of the WESS Nominating Committee is to produce an annual slate of candidates for the section's elected positions: Vice- Chair/Chair-Elect, Secretary, and Member-at-Large. The slate requires two candidates for each position. This committee may also recommend WESS members for various committee appointments.

The Nominating Committee was formed in 1979. Before that time, the responsibility for the nomination of a slate of candidates for section officers resided with the Executive Committee.

It typically conducts most of its business by e-mail and telephone.

Minutes

Due to the confidential nature of the Nominating Committee’s work, all discussions are closed, and minutes are not posted.
